Hi, thought I'd try a pic, so I stole my wife's camera to get a picture of this series 1899 $1 SC of mine. Hope you like it. :smile
Yeah, it's one of my favorite notes of mine. Love the design, and apart from the crease in the center it's in great condition.
Great note! Unlike coins, notes usually come out a lot nicer using a scanner. Easier than taking a picture, at least for me. Guy~
ha! Working on the scanner. I had one from around 2000 or 2001 that finally died a year or so ago (plus it wasn't entirely compatible with any operating system newer than Windows XP)... I'm thinking of buying a combination laser printer/scanner soon.
Nice start on the Black Eagles.. All in all there are 13 notes (not including stars) for this Series starting at Fr 226, 226a, 227,228,229, 229a, 230, 231,232, 233,234,235,and 236. The 229a is by far the most rare and even in lower grades it commands a hefty premium. Vernon/McClung sigs with the date to the right of the seal. There are 3 main varities Date above the SN, Date Below the SN and the Date to the Right of the SN. What an impressive set if you could complete it. Last I looked, the Fr229a was selling for between $15,000 and $18,000 in high grade gem. Good luck on your quest and post iamges along the way. RickieB
