I can take a clear(ish) picture of this coin with certain lighting, but the coin ends up very rough looking. When I get the lighting right, the pics all end up blurry. Any suggestions ??? thanks

Thanks! I'll have to mess around a bit, got mixed results with various coins. Heres the best shot I got with the same coin above. Not so great, but might be the right direction to go in.
My best has been using the MACRO setting (the flower icon) and no flash. if your camera has it, try the SUPER MACRO and copy stand to keep the camera stable.
Randy I shoot using the MACRO setting, tripod, delay timer with natural sunlight. Here is a coin I shot yesterday, such as they are.
randy, Can you select your aperture and/or shutter speed? If so try stopping the aperture down (or decreasing the shutter speed). The smaller the aperture the greater the depth of field.
Thanks all I Have a Kodak easy share, which I guess its pretty basic and doesnt have any of that. Gona try n find a manual online though just in case. With the clear but rough pic I use a Daylight bulb which is pretty bright (its what I use for about all my coins). I think if I use a brighter soft white light bulb it may help. Heres a pic taken with a soft white bulb, which wasnt all that bright.
