While pondering about numismatic subjects, Euro coinage began to peake my interests like: "Why collect them - aren't they all the same?" "Are they all business strikes (circulation)?" "Are they Legal Tender in every member nation?" "Are changes ever made?" "I read about Euro Commemoratrives and wondered about their Legal Tender status." This pondering led to a multi-installment article answering the above questions plus an inclusion of as many Euro coin photos as I could find showing the first circulation coins of all the member nations, the changes during the following years and the design changes of those nations commemorative coins. As this is an arduous task I will post two to three parts of this multi-installment article daily until fully posted. The first Part is Euro Changes - Part One Hope you enjoy reading about and seeing these "Euro" coins... Clinker
While not too many Coin Talk members are interested in them, I think, there are others who not only use euro and cent coins every day but also collect them. This guy for example. So I may well post a comment here and there ... By the way, if you need images of the coins that are leagl tender in all euro area member states (i.e. circulation and commemorative coins), have a look here: http://ec.europa.eu/economy_finance/euro/cash/coins/index_en.htm Images of the collector coins (legal tender in the ussuing member state only) may be a little harder to find.
