Bruce Lee on Coins When the television screen first displayed a film that combined the three elements Marshall Artsaction, Good vs Bad drama and an Orientalhero, Bruce Lee led the way. Many of us were introduced to Kung Fu way back in 1966 when the Green Hornet television series was broadcast by ABC. Perhaps you are one of many Martial Arts afficiados who frequented movie theaters to see "Fists of Fury" and/or "Enter the Dragon." I've watched Kato help defeat the bad guys many times on the Green Hornet series reruns and saw an encore presentation of "Enter the Dragon" just a couple months ago. In 1996 when Gibraltar authorized a series of gold coins be struck in proof titled "Centenary of the Cinema," Bruce Lee was one of the honorees: His image was placed on the reverse of the following gold pieces: 1. 1/25 gold Crown measuring 13.9mm and weighing 0.0400 ounces AGW (Actual Gold Weight). 2. 1/10 gold Crown measuring `7.9mm and weighing 0.1000 ounces AGW. 3. 1/5 gold Crown measuring 22mm and weighing 0.2000 ounces AGW. All three coins bear the same design. Elizabeth II is featured on the obverses and Bruce Lee is the predominent image on the reverses (photo courtesy of Lynn Coins at lynncoins.com): http://lynncoins.com/96BLEE10.JPG Hope you enjoyed seeing this tribuite to Bruce Lee...
