An Error Coin You May Not Know Exists - Episode 21 One of the Netherlands coins produced from 1818-1828 was a 5 Cents piece. During those years the coin contained Five Cents worth of silver. Here is what those 5 Cents coins looked like courtesy of Don's World Coin Gallery (Notice both sides of the coin): http://worldcoingallery.com/countries/coine.php?image=nmc2/130-52&desc=Netherlandskm525Cents(1818-1828)&query=Netherlandskm52 If you have never seen a full brockage error coin you about to. Somehow, in 1826, the Netherlands Mint, during its regular striking of circulation 5 Cents coins, produced such an error. Though the coin was struck only once on one side, because of the full brockage strike, the mintmaster overlooked the error and so it was released into circulation. Due to his failure you get to see this fine specimen courtesy of Coin Archives: http://www.coinarchives.com/w/lotviewer.php?LotID=927959&AucID=686&Lot=1233&Val=91337f16a1ce7f75eb7940f97b0a4cc7 Hope you enjoyed seeing this error.
