I hope someone can suggest a way that I should store my Sacagawea Dollars until I can afford to have them slabbed. Do Aittites work? Would you suggest Intercept Shield 2"x2" plastic holders?

Does having the coin slabbed by PCGS or NGC actually keep the coins looking pristine or as near pristine as possible?

    Thanks, Jim

Why not just spend the [IMG] things?

Why not just spend the (censored) things?

Because they are worth more than face value unless they are circulated 2000's. A 2001-s can run over $100.00.

Use the Air-Tites - they've worked for me.

The rest of the rules for coin storage also apply of course - cool, dark, dry etc.

I agree with just spending them if you can find anyone that will take them. I've had trouble with stores not wanting to take them. I purposely get some from the bank as well as half dollars just to irritate people at stores when I pay with that stuff. However, you may want to buy some liquid plastic. Lay out a little and wait for it to harden, place the dollars on that and pour some more plastic on top of that. Nice paper weights and they'll stay in great condition for ever. Also, makes for great experiments in a chem lab if you are a student or have one in the family. Place in a beaker, add different acids, write down results and post here.
