So when the 25th ASE's hit, the night before, I registered with the mint and setup 'quick pay.' I also threw one of the Bronze medals of the Presidential series in my shopping cart in case that somehow would speed up putting something else in my cart the next day. It would also guarantee the cost of my order to get upgraded shipping ($300 vs $295) in case I only ordered one set. I was lucky enough to get in at around 30 minutes, and got two sets, so the upgraded shipping didn't really matter. Anyway, a few days after ordering, I got an email from the mint saying that they just shipped out my box with overnight service. They sent a fairly large box that I had to sign for. 12x8x6 inches or so. Was eager to open it and was very surprised to only find the one bronze medal in a little weak plastic wrapper -- plus a little wad of newspaper-ish paper. Poorly protected. So, lesson learned -- the mint will apply upgraded shipping over everything in an order. They sent my $5 medal in that big a box and had someone sign for it.. crazy. Also lesson learned, read the whole invoice in the email -- would have seen that my two sets were still on backorder.. -- snewman
