I read so many posts here about people going to banks and walking with "great stuff" they got from tellers. One I remember particularly was posted by Noost a couple of months or so back. That is when I started getting really envious. Well, the other day I was waiting at the teller and she was doing whatever it is tellers do. While she was doing this I looked down at here coin tray and I saw two Kennedys in it. I asked if I could see them and when she pulled them out I could see she also had one golden dollar and it was a '09 Native American. The first Kennedy was a silver and the second was a 1976. All three of these coins were packed with luster and look great. There just seems to something about getting some nice coins at face value. I wonder if the two Kennedys had been part of someones, collection or coin jar considering the condition? I am also really surprised about the '09 dollar coin being there in a bank tellers coin tray.
the best deals are bank finds got a whole roll of silver clad halves with a silver 76 in as well from a bank
The only thing I ever got out of a bank teller was the time of day, I don't waste time asking anymore .
Nice finds both of you, and sorry to hear your tellers are not more shall we say coin friendly Pappy
Great finds...and do not forget to treat the Tellers, they will set things aside for you if treated well. Regards, RickieB
Charm, tell us , how the hell do you charm an underpaid bankteller? Most of the ones I've seen have a fake smiles on there faces, and a bright lights over there heads, just wondering, how do I fill my pocketbook up without getting caught...
A fellow in my home town knows all the tellers by name. They stay on the lookout for things he might like... such as a $1000 dollar bill from the 1930's that an elderly lady brought in one day; or the multiple boxes of state quarters of an issue that were very much in demand at the time.... he gives them gift cards to local stores around Christmas, something extra if they find him a nice item.. and he's always friendly (and actually is a very nice guy).
My tellers that I see every week always love getting rid of the Eisenhower dollars they get. I have over $200 in IKE dollars that I got for face value.
