Savoca has a 8 coin offering of Legion Coins. Problem is they are not in the greatest shape. The first three you can make out the number of the legion. Could someone look at them and tell me if they are worth bidding on. Auction is tomorrow the 6th.
    Thanks

Ultimately, you have to decide for yourself what you want to bid on. But personally I would probably pass on any Legionary denarius where you couldn't at least read the number of the legion. Here's one from my collection, where you can (just) tell that it is Legion III:

I own near 50 Legionary denarii, and having looked at the offerings I would pass. Possibly the Legio X, but otherwise, like @Parthicus said, if the legion number is illegible, it's more or less a slug.
