Trajan's Column

My second coin. I like this despite the ragged edge. It has the door, the eagles and the full statue so that makes up for it. In addition, it looks to have some nice toning going on.


Sadly, I am back on the wagon for a while. However, if I can buy a couple of coins like these every few months, I am happy. It certainly concentrates the mind

NICE! I see many of these with the statue at the top of the column off flan. Congrats.

 

Great coin, keep it up. I have always been a happy go lucky guy, but I have been into coins since I was in grade 5, and love it more as time goes on. As much as I like all coins from 650BC and up, ancients/medieval hold a special place in my heart!

It means "very pleased". Fully, "chuffed to little mint balls" I have no idea why!

Don't get your knickers in a twist -- it's a Britishism.

Interestingly, big cats (lions, tigers, leopards) will sometimes "chuff" to show contentment or pleasure, since they can't purr.

Very nice, I tend to like ragged flans.

 

The ragged flan probably put it in my price range. Some of the legend on the obverse is very soft, but I really don't care. I was just glad to be able to get the whole column.

This is my favourite reverse type struck for Trajan and yours is a wonderful example. Congrats!
