Out my prive collection: Mint year : 112-117 AD

    Currency Dupondius 28mm, 12.5g .

Front: Trajan with radiate crown , and with a robe.

Edge lettering : IMP CAESAR NERVAE TRAIANO AVG GER DAC PM TR P COS VI P P.

    IMP Caesari · · · NERVAE DIVI · F · NERVAE - The emperor , Caesar Nerva son (f = filio ) of the divine Nerva,

Rear: SC, on Trajan's Column with eagles at the sides.

Edge lettering : SENATVS POPVLVSQVE ROMANVS ( Senate and People of Rome )

    Side of Trajan

It was built in 107-112 N.C. the Forum of Trajan and consecrated in 113 N.C. The monument was probably originally intended as a tomb for the ashes of the Emperor Trajan. It is a triumph of Trajan's Column to the victory over the rebellious Dacia ( now Romania) to commemorate the Dacian Wars ( 101-102 and 105-106 AD). According to the Latin inscription on the pillar he also serves to indicate the height of the hill that was the purpose of the Forum of Trajan excavated.

I've got a semis depicting Trajan's column on the reverse. I'll try to post a pic now that this older thread has been resurrected.
