Sorry, I only have the obverse pic. I didn't buy it either.

I don't know this series. I'll be interested to see the responses from the experts. At first glance, it looks okay to me, but I know there are a lot of good fakes out there. There are 3 things that give me pause, but I'm not confident in my analysis.

While a reverse photo would be very helpful IMO, I can find (see) nothing that would indicate fake from the provided obverse photo.

Thanks for the input. I wasn't able to find an XF/AU example with that much detail in the dress. There were a few other subtle things that stood out, but it was just wear patterns and not a distinctive design error.

Yes , a reverse pic would go far . Do you know the MM ?

Hard to tell, but it might have been cleaned then retoned, which would prevent a clean grade. I got a raw barber half one time that had this problem. It was clearly seen when in hand, not at all in pic. Just be careful

99% sure 1878-s one of the most common dates 78 p a proof only and 78 cc a very tough date especially in this high of grade. I believe it's a au-55 78-s with nice original skin and yeah it's real a $300 coin all day in this grade if reverse as nice
