This is how tight the TPG's are these days...this is just fresh back from NGC ( they say ) ....... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=300195275690&ssPageName=STRK:MEBI:IT&ih=020 40? FORTY ???? 40???????? I know it's not great a pic, but I can see enought to say....FORTY ????????
Man, that is a gorgeuos coin. Hard to tell from the pics, but looks like AU. Not sure though. My only guess is that PCGS and NGC are tightening a bit with the new ANACS possibly? Competition? Not sure, best thing I could think of, and can be way off. Best of luck winning it man. :thumb: Phoenix
I agree with Phoenix, the coin is a least an AU-50 and might even go MS-60! I copied and pasted the pics to my PC, edited and cropped them and have attached them below. I did the best that I could with them but the clarity is still not that great! Frank
Actually not...look at the auction If I get anymore of these, I'm going to have a freakin grading set, lol
I guess that I am blind. I do not see it. Here is a 09-S PCGS graded as 40. If these 2 coins are not in a different league than I am ............
Yep...like I said, I'm not submitting anything to anybody these days, except for maybe an authentication here and there for resale. I'll stand in line all day to buy 40's like that S/S Oh yeah, I learned the $$$ way NOT to use ICG, I should have cracked and sold raw....
there must be something wrong that you cant see. I mean even a newbie can tell the grade is higher then 40.
unless there is someting not visible in the pic...it sure looks like an au lincoln to me.....not sure what the grader was thinking......
Regrade? Maybe they should send it back for a regrade? It may be worth it if there is a significant jump in grade. Maybe I'll hold off sending anything to them for a while.... unless there's some wear that we can't see in the photo, that coin looks pretty sharp to me.
Grey Sheet lists the 09-S @ $200 in XF and $230 in AU. My guess is that is not accurte, but shoyuld indicate that there is little difference in the price. It is probably not worth resubmitting.
It might be a case of smart business! If you do not try to grade a coin at it's actual grade, then you do not run the risk of over-grading and then being responsible for any losses suffered by the owner of the coin for the difference between what the owner paid for the coin and it's actual worth.
