Why can't say PCGS or PMG cut their currency holders to a uniform size. It seems with all mine they are different and don't fit constantly in the box's. Just seems rudimentary to me. There's some that are way bigger then the note...like with small size FRN's just cut them all to identical!!
It's sort of the same thing with TPG coin holders, the boxes only hold each TPGs own unique coin holders. They're not uniform for cross over from say an NGC box to a PCGS box. The heights are about the same for the small notes between PMG and PCGS currency holders with PCGS being slightly larger. I don't know the sizes of the large currency holders since I don't have any of those. Maybe just go with the larger box to hold multiple sizes or develop a box that can contain all of the variations then try to sell them to collectors... Perhaps unique boxes for the different sized holders would sell more supply products to collectors so you could make more green. What's your current solution? Are there any other ideas or other secondary boxes for holders out there?
The Coin box's are not the same as they are made just for say PCGS and all PCGS coins fit there. But I'm saying a 1969C note from "J" is different that another just like it from the same TPGer. I was trying to make a system for my district set and have the large size box's but they do not all fit because of thise size difference. What I currently use are the USPS box's that you ship in but thought I should use something else... I'll figure something out. I don't have room for a album in the SDB so that's out too. Just thought they should be the same size. Seems weird/lazy that they are not.
True this is very aggravating!!! Iam mostly a PCGS guy, But you will Still find the old style PCGS holders which i dont care for at all !!! There very flimsy and way to big, Iam actually sending in several this Weekend to get re-holdered below is an example of the old style Your best bet is to try and stay with one TPG if at all possible!!
Yea I have that type too and one is a Fractional!! And it was very flimsy...the change there was very welcomed. But it still happens even in current holders and in PMG too.
I see what you mean, that is frustrating, but so is a modern PCGS coin holder box for modern PCGS coins that don't hold the old/early PCGS holders. If they are going to change the size of the holders as you guys have described and also the materials the holders are made from, even if it's just structural, they ought to offer free upgraded holdering service for the old style, maybe just charge the cost of shipping. Like that will ever happen...:eating: A standardized holder system would be very welcome for sure. :thumb:
You can start them online, just Google: Online Petition You'll find basic forms to set up like this: Petition Online amongst others... Go for it MPCUSA...!
I'm in And Krispy I have the same complaint about coins but this is even worse as it'll be the same company say PMG and the same type holder and the same year and the same type of note and it's still off by an inch or more. At least the coins stay the same for that type of holder/company. Petition anyone?
For the most part I agree. I believe that the pouch for all small size note holders should be 1/4 inch higher and longer than the actual note. The 1/4 inch would accomodate all small size regardless of how they were cut. Similar deal with large size. Now with fractionals and MPC / AMC, go with a holder slightly larger than the largest type. So the TPG's would have three stock holders. All of the other odd ball stuff (what, say 1% of all submissions?) would be a best fit deal.
