I didn't buy many coins this year but here are the highlights: Gela tetradrachm (not rare but I like it) Neapolitan quarter(?) unit (unique variety, missing from Potamikon) MAMAR tetras (second known, only example in private hands) Agyrion hemilitron (not rare but a must-have for the enthusiast) Assorus tetras (very rare, the only example clearly showing all the human facial features- the others aren't as clear, a nose here, eye there, etc.) Overall it was a great year, especially with the release of the book. I'll be shifting my focus to silver now. I'm much more conservative bidding on silver so I hope that doesn't translate to very few coins! There are a few bronzes I'm on the lookout for but I doubt they'll appear any time soon.
Great and interesting coins! I was struck by the Assorus tetras with the double human bull, what an interesting type!
Very nice coins. I hope you don't mind me asking, but which book are you in reference to? Thanks. P.S. I am a complete newbie when it comes to ancient coins. I find ancient coins and the history attached to it fascinating to say the least.
My book: http://www.archaeopress.com/Public/...asp?id={630D98AF-05CE-4C17-B530-6CD7DF4DA048} Also available in limited edition hardcover (only from the authors, not the publisher).
FANTASTIC @Nicholas Molinari ! Love the MFB's, and enjoy your captures. Your Neapolitan, Agyrion, Assorus double-Bull are really nice! I enjoy your book, and am looking for your AR version!
