its a sad day tooling has come to indian coins http://cgi.ebay.com/India-1839-Will...ryZ45138QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem let me know what you guys think
I would have to disregard the 100% feedback on this one. That 9 is just too messed up. Lol, he suggests that carbon dating would resolve the true age of the coin, obviously he doesn't know the first thing about carbon dating.
You would think that people bidding on rare coins will do their home work. Not on eBay..... The seller wrote paragraphs about tracking a coin in various auctions from 1922 to 2000 and then said due to lack of record or reference starting it low. OK, what's the next joke. I quickly checked my Virgil Brand's auction catalog (part 9) lot #212 and it says it was a "Victorian" pattern rupee dated 1839. In Pridmore's book, this Victorian pattern is listed as #181. So my conclusion, this seller is trying to cheat everybody by listing an altered "William’s" rupee and referring a legitimate "Victorian" pattern rupee. Regards, Ballabh Garg
you guys are right but i am more worried about the tooling coming to indian coins its really a sad thing that people will get cheated
