Too 'weathered' to tell? Does anyone recognize anything?

Here I have an AE4 that I cannot see what it is, to go looking for.
To me, it looks like a big cat (Panther) leaping over the number '59' (like the Eveready battery ad). Presumably, it is not that.
If anyone recognizes anything here, please let me know.
Even which side is 'Obverse' and which is 'Reverse' would be a help?
    Thank-you.

"Now that's what I'm talkin' 'bout!"
I knew someone out there would have the answer.
Soooooo good. David. I was never close.
But that is close enough for me. I am off to do some research.
    Thank-you David (et. al.)
