What do you guys think, natural or artificial toning on this dime? I've heard the general advice that the toning shouldn't be erratic/mixed colors...and this looks a little erratic, but this isn't one of those eBay sellers that sells off a bunch of AT coins. I realize its hard to say for sure from the pictures, but what do you guys think? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...3D&viewitem=&sspagename=ADME:B:EOIBSA:US:1123
looks corroded. all toning is natural btw. only artificial when it done on purpose. I'll guess no one tried to make this one look that way, so will say it's NT.
Fair assessment, thanks. Where are you seeing the corrosion, obverse and reverse? Sorry, learning on this one...
all toning is corrosion but generally not considered so until a coin runs into dark black. anyway, the reverse looks like it has spots of dark black and green near the bottom.... could just be gunk that comes off with a quick dip.
Thanks! Appreciate the help BadThad and DesertGem. I see what you're saying about the toning on the obverse and reverse being a little inconsistent. We'll see what it looks like when I get it in hand, anyway, thanks for the help. Much appreciated.
