    Hello guys,

Im wondering why coins gets some tone change? What alters (changes) the original state? I know there are probably a LOT of reasons...I have a nice purple LC which I wanted to scan now! but my bro lend the USB cable to his GF, I will be able to scan it by Saturday. I would like some input on it.

Thanks, Merry X-Mas and......Happpppppy New Year!

    ...Cheers!

Toning is caused by a lot of different factors: heat, humidity, chemical reactions with certain holders, sunlight, a whole lot of factors. Keep in mind that, although toning is considered desireable by some collectors, it really is just a nice way to say "tarnished".

Toned or tarnished, it doesn't make any diffference when it comes to my choice of Buffalo nickels.

They must be rich honey-yellow in color, evenly toned all areas.
