Nothing special. Couple of cents pulled from a bank bag.

Just wanted to see if I could capture the tone, more of a photo exercise than anything else.

Indirect diffused lighting, stopped way down, long exposure, custom WB. Cropped and pasted to a dark background.

Still can't bring out the violet and pinks.

    Hope you like them.

I would be proud to get a picture that good. The toning on the coin is nice too. I have started saving the coppers that are toned because they can be beautiful although not valuable. What kind of camera do you have what mega pixel, what settings my pictures look like *^&%.

I do a lot of roll searching and find these often, but there's not many I keep...only the really special ones. I admit, I have a good number of these "worthless" cents because of the toning. I have some very interesting toned zincolns.

Good job with the pics. I've found these very tough to capture the toning on. Some of them are very challenging.

AH HA! I found a pic. This coin really stands out as a zinc toner in hand.

    Thanks for the kind words.

Just messin around playing with things I have been reading about.

I use a Canon 30D with a 60mm macro. Based on knowledge obtained from this site, I shot it with Ott lights covered with paper towels. The camera was set to aperture priority stopped down to f14. The exposure is long, but it is the only way I can get the coin in focus shooting at an angle.
