Toned 1878-S $2 1/2 Gold Liberty

    It is now my second toned 1878-S. Here is my other:

    It's a really nice gold coin. Do you agree with the assigned grade?

    I'd believe either of them at AU50, and the newer one at AU53.

    Seriously? The ms62 looks like an au50-53 to you?

    Yes, because somehow I parsed that "MS62" as "XF" like the second one. No real idea how I managed it, but once I thought they considered it "worn," I evaluated it based on "wear" that wasn't there. :)

    You'd hate to spend an hour in my head. :)

    And to add, my statement remains valid. I'd like that first one a whole lot better at AU53. :D
