Anyone know anything about these? French tokens struck in Aluminium from the 1920s. Are they scarce? Do they have much value? I have not come across any of these before and I have no books on French tokens. Scale at the bottom is in tenths of an inch.
These are french emergency money (Monnaies Necessite, in German - Notgeld) and typically issued locally when for a variety of reasons paper money and coinage could not be made available across the whole country. CGB has a variety for sale at http://www.cgb.fr/boutique,necessite.html including a 10c version of your coin from Toulouse at http://www.cgb.fr/union-latine-comite-du-sud-ouest-10-centimes,fnc_238946,a.html
Bayonne has a history of issuing those ship jetons. See here: a Bayonne Chamber of Commerce token from 1758. Christian
