It's actually nickel plated brass.

Wow. I must've checked a dozen web sites, and every single one either referenced or flat-out stole this same description, complete with the "bares" misspelling. (Except for the one that went straight to spoofed "you've won" and/or "your computer is infected" pages.)

 

I am glad I didn't look it up then. My old laptop would be locked up.

 

Yeah, that second one would've been uglier if I'd been on a Windows machine. Seems like you used to be able to report bad search results to Google, but not any more, I guess.
