ok ngc informed me that in order to submit a bulk order to them for the presidential coins i must be a dealer ,and then she said as long as i could get four dealers to confirm that i have done business with them for a year and file an aplication if it gets accepted then i'm good ,so my question is has anyone ever done this or more important has anyone ever submitted bulk to ngc or even pcgs for that matter(depends on price because at $40 per they can keep their grade) under a dealers account and if so how was that done .did you have to give your coins to the dealer or did you ship them yourself and when returned where did they get mailed back to the dealer or your home..if i am wrong about any of this pls let me know . I am just looking for the cheapest way to grade these presidential coins without going broke .... thank you everyone
NGC allows direct submissions from registered eBay users. Seems like it would be the easiest way to submit coins to NGC if you didn't want to do it through a dealer.
Just pay the lousy $12.50 per coin I can't see you getting that much of a discount over $12.50 and to run the risk of leaving 100 of these smooth edges with someone you don't know well I guess you have to weigh that against trying to save a few bucks. I like NGC alot and from what I hear PCGS is charging $40 for smooth edge grading, but don't quote me on that. Also it seems that PCGS graded presidential dollar errors are commanding more of a premium over NGC, but if it is $27.50 then you have to weigh that also.
Try here, they'll take any coin in any amount and you're sure to have an MS70 returned: http://www.stargrading.org/ .....By the way, I'm just kidding. Guy~
Yes, I've done the application process and submitted bulk to both NGC & PCGS & other services. The NGC application process isn't burdensome. If I recall correctly, it was a few pages asking standard information (name / address / tax ID / business name / financial info / etc). They do ask for 4 references and unlike most coin companies, they actually check them. I assume you can give anyone you want, but I selected 4 current NGC dealers. The bulk submission process isn't much harder than normal submissions, just different requirements and rules (i.e. coins have to be in tubes). I posted this in your other thread:
first let me thank you for all the great information , I have about 50 and my partner he has about 80 or 90 so i thought we would send all in together , i asked him about sending to a dealer and he is just not willing to seperate from his coins ,but really thank you for that offer , well I am waiting on aplication and hopefully it will all go well ,may i ask you if you know when ngc say that you need four dealers to vouch for you must they all be dealers who are registered with ngc
They don't have to be NGC dealers that vouch for you. However, I don't know how much extra time it would take if NGC had no idea who they were talking to. I specifically picked 4 NGC dealers since I knew NGC had already dealt with them and presumably knew them to be reputable. Also, if you do a bulk submission with your friend, be aware that your coins will get mixed up. For bulk submissions the services do not keep the coins in order. They all get mixed together when they are laid out on trays.
