I inherited an 1884-S Morgan dollar from my mother, which is a very valuable coin in good condition. Unfortunately, mine is not in good condition. Liberty is readable, a lot of her hair is worn, but it has an almost (if not compltely) full rim. I was trying to decide whether I should send it out to NGC or not. And while I'm at it, should I send in my 1884-O or my 1882-S Morgans? (these are in much better shape- AU 50+)

1884-S Morgans are pretty common in all grades up to XF, so they are not worth getting slabbed. Your 1884-O and 1882-S Morgans wouldn't be worth slabbing unless they were MS-63 or better.

Before deciding, post some pics of the coins as it may not be worth risking the money to have them graded.

From your description of these coins, I'm afraid that the cost of 'slabbing' would be about what the coins are worth. The only thing you have gained is safe storage, and you can do that yourself without the extra cost.
    Just an idea.

In my opinion, the grading fee for each of these coins would be more than the coin is worth.

I have to agree with Doug on this one , save your money, but keep the coins as a family treasure It is nice to be able to pass on a great coin to someone in your family years from now.
