It's really hard to grade without straight on photos. Also, what is your motivation for trying to CAC the coin? Are you planning on selling it? If you are happy with the coin and want to keep it...why spend the money?
Is there weakness in Miss Libertys' hair in the middle by the top , not near her ear where it's usually weak ? Also why are the pics sideways , it really throws off my perception .
Maybe I don't understand CAC but don't they just verify that the coin meets the higher end of the grade? If so, what good is CAC if you think it should be graded higher? It will still be a MS62 even with a CAC sticker. They don't change the grade.
There's a lot of chatter on the cheek and the fields. There also appears to be a rub in the hair above her forehead. There are two distracting black spots on the obverse as well. I looked up the coin to confirm the "O" mint mark. The reverse also has 2 distracting spots, one above the eagle and the other on the wreath. IMO, this coin is graded properly. I wouldn't send it to CAC as I don't think it will garner a gold bean.
With the new pictures...I see a lot of hits on the fields and on her cheek. I think the coin is graded properly. It MIGHT get a green bean, but I'm not even sure of that. To me, this coin is average for the grade. Green beans are given to coins that are solid or better for the grade and I would put the coin at the lower end of that group. It might sticker, it might not. I won't get a gold. A gold sticker indicates they believe the coin is undergraded. Sure, the holder would still say MS62...but an MS62 with a gold sticker means the coin is 63 or even better. They tend to realize prices well beyond the next grade level too. That said, this coin will not get a gold IMHO.
I don't think a green bean on this coin will do much for the value. A gold bean yes...a green not much.
Well, I send just about everything to CAC, but I'll let you know in a month if this was genius or foolish. I say send her in!
No. You have to be authorized. There is a waiting list to get authorization and they are not accepting any new members at the moment. You'll have to find an authorized agent and it's around 12.50 per coin. They only charge you if the attach a bean.
No, you have to be a member. Membership is basically closed down at this point, but there is a waiting list you can get on that they open up periodically. JA is trying to keep the quality there, and grow organically and stay lean and efficient. Turnaround times are ~2 weeks.
