My latest addition. I mainly wanted a type of him as augustus & lost out on the one with a elephant reverse cause of me thinking too long on it. This was offered from a different seller at pretty fair price & its a cool type to acquire.

    Titus (79 - 81 A.D.)
    AR Denarius
O:T CAES IMP VESP PON TR POT, Laureate head right.
R: NEP RED, Neptune standing left, foot on globe, acrostolium in right and scepter in left.
    Rome 71 - 72 A.D.
    2.9g
    18mm

This reverse gives thanks to Neptune (under the name of Redux) for the safe return of Titus to Rome, from Antioch, by sea in 71 AD, on what must have been a hazardous voyage.

Cool addition Mat. Yeah , this is a cool type. You've seen mine, not as nice as yours. It's to bad we don't have further knowledge on the meaning of some other coins.

Haha I was looking at yours lastnight and if you read my forvm gallery reply to yours you'd see why I chuckled. Who would have thought?

@JessV You can get a decent silver ancient in the $30-$40s if you were ever interested. Dont hesitate to ask on here.

I bought only 1 right here on CT just to have and who would have thought it would change my collecting & learning course?

I'm sure some can stop at just 1 or 2 :)

I bet some can, and don't you feel sorry for them? I mean, imagine if we would have stopped at only one or two ancients. Think of the knowledge we all would not have now, not only of coins but of ancient people, places, history, etc etc. That is my favorite part of this hobby, not little pieces of metal, but the stories they tell us.

Look at Mat's. I never knew Titus had a dangerous voyage coming from Antioch in 71ad. Now I do.
