I get to looking at these coins for so long that my eyes water. Even with a microscope I am not sure of what I am seeing sometimes. Here are a couple of 1923 Peace Dollars which sometimes appear to me as 1928's.
If you have a few shots of tequila and look at your coins, you may start to believe you have an awesome error coin collection. TC
I am glad I don't have a drinking problem, T.C. I got enough problems even without that. Haven't had a taste in three years. Not a dirty trick Ken, just old age. The eyes are just not what they used to be, if I didn't enjoy coin collecting so much I would just give it up. As my sight gets worse, I could be missing some valuable dates.
I am NOT an ophthalmologist, and I don't even play one on the internet, but ... [DISCLAIMER: Don't try this at home!] When I was a young man at college baseball summer camp prior to my freshman year I played some tennis then racquetball with a friend, then we hit the pool to refresh. The place was dead. Nobody bothered to alert us that a chlorine treatment had just ensued. Hopefully you will never understand the pain. Since then we have both had 'sensitive' eyes. I occasionally use 'red eye' drops before certain interaction to not appear 'stoned'. One day as I lay back on the bed to administer drops I unwittingly grabbed the antihistamine nose spray bottle which I seldom used, it was probably expired then and is still the one here 8 years later Wholly excrement !!!! Now that stung !!!! For about 5 seconds, the eye inflamed red as all get out for about a minute. But, that stuff cleaned the scum layer right off my eyeball and I could once again read a newspaper from half mile away Not that I have ever had any vision problems, but this was an unexpected improvement. Since then I have ventured into intentional recurrences before big game hunting forays, and most recently realized what a wonderful thing it is to dilute that to a 10% solution with eye drops - no more flames. Just saying.
WOW ! AWORDCREATED, that must have been some experience. I guess I wouldn't recommend this treatment to anyone either, but sure glad it helped you. Dave C.
It makes me wonder the percentage of people with vision issues that could be easily helped by cleaning the windshield.
