    Merry Greetings..
I really thought that this tiny coin marks the last days of my coin-year 2016. I got it by surprise.. Weighing only 0.62 g., it's presumably a Phoenician silver coin which was struck in Sidon-Phoenicia during the revolt against the Persian ruler Artaxerxes III in the late first half of the fourth century BC. Other sources assume that it's a merely Persian coin showing a Persian king slaughtering a " rebelling" lion. This typical coin, I believe, has a clear Phoenician letter on reverse. Please post your views if you have any. Thank you. TinPhoeni R.JPG TinPhoen O.JPG

They come with various letters and with centering showing the ship below. Many I have seen are rather like yours but not as nice on the reverse.

Cool lil' OP-coin, 7Charles ... oh, and your example too, Mentor

Sadly, I tried for one of these but got CLIO'd at the last auction (*sigh*)
