Hi CT folks A friend of mine got the following little bronze coin that got him (and others with him) stumped about. Its only 1.77 g and 15 mm Some have investigated the Massalia route with no success. I suggested, because of the shape of the diadem, to investigate Elymais bronze units or half units, but was no more successful Has any of you, coin addicts, a better guess of what it could be ? Thanks in advance for your input and any track we could follow. Suggestions welcome Q
Very unique. Wish I could help. Best I can do is give the thread a little bump to keep it in the first page. Frustratingly, the last 2 days we've had 2 different posters cluttering up our first page with 5 or 6 threads a day. Just not cool bumping everyone else down.
Well, to start with, @Cucumbor, that's a very cool, whatever it is. Hope someone who knows what they're talking about helps out. Except, @Ryro, as to the point as your observations are, please be a little kinder to the recovering (or not so much --even, can we say, selectively stodgy) English majors in the room. "Very unique" is inherently oxymoronic. Up there with constructs like the old classic, "the thing is, is that...." Seemingly predicated on the notion that "thing is" is a substantive noun. Kind of like fingernails on a chalkboard. (...More stodginess: I don't care so much for smiley imogees --and if I misspelled that, I'm That busted. Wish there was one for, 'walking away, backward; slowly, showing both hands.' --Oh, why not: :<} )
