Weighing just 2.60 g. , this ancient coin includes Greek lettering and seems in good condition. It might need a little bit of professional cleaning. I think it's very old due to its shape which resembles the Seleucid coins of much bigger size. Could you please assist me to identify this coin. Thanks.. Charles
It has nice desert patina (like several of your coins) and the reverse seems very well centered ... I like it
Thanks.. I wonder in Numismatics how a coin might be off-centered on obverse , whereas the reverse is well centered. Then could you guess the name of the Emperor, in addition to the figure on reverse and the lettering ( Let Basileos aside ) . Charles
another cool one 7C, i don't know what it is ...it has to be some type of selecuid coin. they do have a few smaller ones. all the coins you post have nice desert patinas, this one is no exception!
If the quality of your photo was a bit better it would probably be possible to read the name of the king right from the coin. Just like the Romans, these coins have several "standard" reverses you will learn to recognize immediately once you have familiarized yourself with these a bit. This standard reverse is "Apollo standing with bow, holding an arrow".
