After 500 plus posts and a great year on Coin Talk, I feel it is time to move on. Frankly, I need to concentrate on more important priorities (like work, house, etc.) instead of engaging in conversations that seem, sometimes to repeat themselves. Nothing against Peter and this forum, but for me personally, I feel that I am back to the top of the batting order...and my arm (fingers) is spent. I loved the discussions, but more importantly the educational insight that this forum has provided to me. I will take away from it a vast knowledge and better understanding of the hobby. So guys and ladies, it has been real, but it is time to let others post and battle it out. I have always spoke my mind and kept my core beliefs intact (no way...really?), but my fun time on the forum has come at the expense of other priorities that could use more attention. With that said, remember to buy the coin, not the slab. Don't buy the first coin you like at a coin show and always buy quality. If it means that you only get one quality coin versus 50 commons, buy the key date...for commons will always be common. See ya...Ed
Bye, Ed. I'm a relative newcomer to this forum and haven't always agreed with you but I've always enjoyed reading your posts. You seem to bring a fairly mature attitude to your postings and I think we'll be missing that. Maybe you'll take a peek back here once in a while, if for no other reason than to see where this forum is headed. Take care.
Thanks Ed, I for one have appreciated your posts. I haven't always agreed with your point of view but, I found them to be well thought out & articulate. And on more than one occasion I've had to reexamine my own beliefs. Stop in from time to time, Dave
Ed, Believe this or not, but I have sincerely enjoyed debating with you. Your opinions are as valid as mine and, truth to tell, I don't want to see you go. Will you reconsider? I'm offering a hand in friendship!
Ed - you can't go! One of the things that make this forum worthwhile is folks like you, who express points of view that sometimes differ from mine without acrimony, and with a reasoned basis for the point of view. Discussing things with you is debating, not arguing, and its only through honest debate that intellectual progress is made. How about dropping in just once or twice a week? Whatever you decide, stay healthy my friend.
Ed, Although I'm only a beginner numismatist, I can tell from your posts that you are one of the most significant posters here in terms of the expertise you bring to the forum. You'll be missed ... and it'll be cause for celebration when you come back.
Goodbye Ed, is real sad to read "Goodbye" threads...so hope to see you around here once in a while at least! Goodluck! Cheers!, Ivan

Ed, I've always enjoyed your well-reasoned posts. However, "good-bye" is not forever, so I expect we'll see you again. Until then, we'll keep the light on.
