Hey all! I went to an antique mall today for my birthday and found these on sale for $6 altogether. The bag was just labeled “IDK dies?” but it looks to me that they are pretty clearly dies. Thoughts on value / what they are? Any idea as to if they are coin dies or token dies? Thank you!
Obviously by measuring the face you could tell the denomination. I owned a defaced quarter die one at one point that came in a mint case with a certificate showing the coins it was used to struck and why it was decommissioned. I paid a lot more than $6 for it. Good score! You might be able to contact the mint and give them the denomination and serial number and if they keep records of such find out the years and issues the dies struck.
That’s a great price and I certainly would have bought them. I purchased these a year or two ago and I pay more than $6.00 for them. They are defaced which is normal but they are 1999 Delaware obverse and reverse Quarter Dies.
