I found these refernces, there is another, but I can't find it now.

    1) The Authoritative Reference on Three Cent Nickels
by Kevin Flynn and Edward Fletcher

The only reference available dealing solely with the subject of Three Cent nickels. Included in this book are 14 doubled dies, both 1887/6 overdates, 11 misplaced dates and 45 repunched dates. Most of the RPDs have not been publicized anywhere before. The primary purpose of this useful reference is to present relative information regarding history and collecting the series and to present as many die varieties as possible for the series. With over 250 photographs of varieties, this book provides information on the entire series and gives you something from which to attribute your Three Cent nickel varieties. Pricing information is also given. 155 pages, 8-1/2 x 11.

    2) The Authoritative Reference on Three Cent Nickels - Soft Bound - $37.95 Each - (#TL9252)
United States Three-cent & Five-cent Pieces - An Action Guide for the Collector and Investor
    by Q. David Bowers

Another of Bowers' small but informative reference books, the 168 pages contain valuable information all collectors can find useful. 5.5" x 8.5", soft bound.
United States Three-Cent & Five-Cent Pieces - An Action Guide for the Collector & Investor - Soft Bound - $9.95 Each

    3) Flying Eagle, Indian Cent, Two Cent and Three Cent Doubled Dies
    by Kevin Flynn

Years of study on these series helped produce this reference on the lower denomination designs of James B. Longacre. Loaded with hundreds of photographs of doubled dies this is highly recommended for the variety or series collector. Included are separate sections on all the titled series along with one on How Die Varieties are Made which photographically illustrates the differences between the different types of die varieties found in these series as well as providing text to help you better understand how these varieties occur. Also included is pricing for all the varieties covered in the book. 174 pages, 8-1/2 x 11.
Flying Eagle, Indian Cent, Two Cent and Three Cent Doubled Dies - Spiral Bound - $37.95 Each - (#TL9270)

For the record, since I messed up another posting, these are available on the web, I do not sell books.

At one time there was a Whitman album that held two cent, three cent silver, three cent nickels, shield nickels, and 20 cent pieces. That album is long out of print but can sometimes be found from dealers who specialize in old albums.

There is another excellent reference on the three cent nickels but unfortunately I can't recall the name of it. It is a large book, hardbound between three and four hundred pages and it is very detailed. Unfortunately it is out of print and expensive when you can find it $150 - $175 range I believe. Can anyone help with the title?
