    It's gorgeous! :eat:

That seller has some awesome coins and I've spoken with him several times and he seems to be a great person so if the price is right, I'd say go fer it. :D

    Ribbit :)

We agreed to $450 plus shipping that seemed like a pretty fair deal to me compared to what I have seen others sale for on Heritage. Can anyone give me any feedback on the details and color of the coin? I thought it was well struck with great details and color for the grade but again this is my first coin of this kind and only my second colonial coin.

Well I think his discription of it is rather understated LOL what a super coin

I agree with De Orc! :thumb:

There is a slight stain on the reverse and my guess is that stain is what kept it from getting a MS grade but I don't think the stain distracts enough to matter, especially for $450. :D

    Great pickup! :eek:hya:

I don't know anything about this coin, but I REALLY enjoyed looking.
And at AU-58 it's got to be a great example.
I like coins that have good detail so that if someone looks at it they know the intent of the designer/engraver.
This coin surely meets that criterium.

Colonials isn't my area of expertise and I have no idea how accurate or inaccurate the images in the listing are. That said, the color, as portrayed, looks too light/unoriginal to me.

I looked at all the pics and the color problem appeared to be caused by lighting, since the last pic showed the coin much darker than the first 4 pics. :kewl: So I don't see any problems with the color. :eating:

Thank you - I had missed that. If it looks like the last image, my concern about the color is history.

    Very attractive piece.

My first thought was like Mark's -- color looks unnatural. However, the darker pics make me question that. I'd like to see the coin in-hand to make an assessment.

Otherwise, it looks like a very nice coin...Mike

That is an attractive coin, in spite of the stain as others have commented. If you like the type, this is a good example to get.

As far as the seller is concerned, as H.T says, he has some really interesting coppers, (he seems to sell a lot of coins originating from Goldberg auctions).

Well...to disagree with the others...my thoughts are that as soons as it arrives you should slap a new label on it and ship it to me. It will be tough to make a spot for it my collection, but I will make the sacrifice. :)

All kidding aside that is one nice coin and good pick up. I do not really collect these, but this certainly looks like a keeper. Good start and enjoy. :)
