Images came out pretty well; my new 1805 oc half cent:

Looks like half a half-cent.

Now that's an error! Really nice find.

Seems like there is going to be a twist to this one.

You may be on to something:D...
    Interesting detail I highlighted:

The date looks wonky to me.

    Whoa. Spectacular Jack.
As for the date there is a large 5 and small 5 variation.
    This is the small 5.

I assume the little blob of metal under the A is a die chip.
Combined with the small 5, that makes this rarer?

I couldn't find any on Heritage or PCGS with that large knob on the tail of the 5 either. The 0 should be thin at the top and the loops of the 8 more oval. Is it supposed to be the small 5 stems?

    Oh I see. Interesting.
I guess the date was wonky. I wasn't comparing and examining them.

Is such an "error" from a screw press very likely, assuming everyone was sober?

OK, the die chip under the "A" is always seen on a genuine 1804 C-6 draped bust half cent reverse (image below). A genuine 1805, not so much unless you count the CN ones:D...

This is the closest this example's date gets to a genuine example:
