Thoughts on 1999 Dime

    EDF25414-858C-4FD1-B0C9-CD8F854B482E.jpeg 5974E4B1-52F9-43AC-A1B7-6F25C42AEE0A.jpeg New to collecting and found this Dime today, any thoughts on what is going on with it would be appreciated. Appears to be a rough finish, missing layer?

    Appears to be ED, Environmental Damage. May have been exposed to some acidic situation, causing the surface to become damaged (dropped in a cup of Coke™?). Others will no doubted give their opinions, so hold on for a bit and see what they have to say.

    I have metal detected dimes and other coins from the beach that have that appearance. Years of tumbling in the sand gives it that roughness.

    Not a mint error of any kind.

    Missing clad layer usually happens only on one side of a clad coins..
