Lazy Saturday summer afternoons are a fine time to sip tea and watch some TV…. While channel surfing, I bumped into Rick Tomaskas program and he was hawking a five ounce silver puck of the 1907 St Gaudens double eagle that I rather liked… I perused the US mint site with no luck. Googling the piece took me to the GovMint site. How would a fellow find this on the US mint site?

Well, I just want to go on record that I am the least familiar with U.S. Mint purchases (or GovMint for that matter)!

That said, it sure looks like a nice specimen; I may have to consider it if I ever run into one! :D

I know what GovMint is and I will not trade with them…. Is the five ounce St Gaudens puck not a US mint issue?

No. Not a US Mint issue. The only 5oz silver "coins" that I know of sold by the US Mint was the America The Beautiful series. 5oz silver examples of the ATB Washington Quarter.

It’s not a US Mint issue. I would just live without it, maybe but a nice pre 1933 gold coin or some Silver Dollars. :)

I saw a 1 oz. one one eBay for $95.00 or best offer, no I didn't make the offer.
I will admit the J-1976 is a favorite of mine.
