April 16th, 69 A.D. Otho committed suicide at Brixellum. Although Otho attempted to reach a peaceful agreement with Vitellius, he was not successful. Vitellius started advancing towards Italy, and instead of waiting for support Otho decided to fight back. His army was totally defeated at Cremona on April 14th. Otho heard about this defeat the following day and stabbed himself to death the next morning, on April 16th, 69 A.D.

April 20th, 121 Birth of Marcus Aurelius. Marcus Aurelius was one of the “Five good emperors”, and is also considered one of the most important Stoic philosophers. He was born into a politically prominent family, and was a dedicated student who learned Latin and Greek as he grew up. Adopted by Antoninus Pius as successor, he ruled as Emperor from 161 to his death in 180.

April 20th, 1947 Christian X of Denmark died. Christian X had been King since his father died in 1912. During World War II, after the German occupation of Denmark, he rode on horseback unescorted (though legend said; a kid once assured he was escorted by all Denmark) every day through the streets of Copenhagen. He did this to show his people he had not abandoned them nor his claim for national sovereignty.
He was succeeded on his death by his son, who became Frederick IX.

Nice coins guys. There's something about big old worn-out but problem-free sestertii that I find very appealing.

I totally agree => they're comfort coins ... you are allowed to handle the "frick" out of 'em and you have absolutely no worries about damaging them (I've made this reference before, but to me, they're kinda like super-cool optimum river skipping rocks!!)

Been really busy, but things are going OK. At least my youngest son is now out of Afghanistan. He arrived at Camp Atterbury yesterday. That's a relief for both his mother and I. I think I should celebrate and buy a coin. What do ya think?

Instead of buying a drink? I'd say yes.
