Not the usual Ancient's history: 5/3 1946 AD Churchill delivered his famous "iron curtain" speech The “Sinews of peace” speech delivered by Britain’s Prime Minister Winston Churchill is considered by many to be the beginning of the Cold War. He gave this famous speech at Westminster College when this institution recognized him with an honorary degree. Churchill used his famous words when he said: “From Stettin in the Baltic to Trieste in the Adriatic, an iron curtain has descended across the Continent. Behind that line lie all the capitals of the ancient states of Central and Eastern Europe . . . and all are subject in one form or another, not only to Soviet influence but to a very high and, in many cases, increasing measure of control from Moscow”.

7/3 161 AD Antoninus Pius dies in his estate at Lorium and is succeeded by Marcus Aurelius Titus Fulvius Aelius Hadrianus Antoninus Augustus Pius had been adopted by Hadrian on 138 AD and ruled as emperor after his death only a few months after. His reign was peaceful: he built temples, theatres, mausoleums; and he promoted arts and science. During his reign, he gained the title of Pius, either because he compelled the Senate to deify his adoptive father Hadrian, or because he had saved senators sentenced to death by Hadrian in his later years. He died of fever at Lorium on March 7, 161 AD.

8/3 1702 Anne Stuart becomes Queen of England, Scotland and Ireland Anne’s sister, Mary, had died in 1694 and left her husband, William of Orange, as King. Anne was the next on the line of succession, and although they had a bad relationship before her death, Anne and William reconstructed their bond soon after. When William III died on March 8, 1702, Anne became queen. She was crowned on April 23, 1702 and reigned until her death on August 1, 1714. She had no heirs: although she was pregnant at least seventeen times, she miscarried or gave birth to stillborn kids, four died before reaching the age of two and one died when he was eleven. This is why she was the last of the Stuarts to be Queen, and was succeeded by her cousin, George, of the house of Hanover.
I may post a Churchhill Crown Tomorrow night... depends if I remember and have the time to take the photo (I can't wait for March Break)
