This was thrown at me from a car, in Las Vegas, NV. What is it? A COIN?

Appears to be silver, and the size of a Quarter.

Take it to the Silver & Gold Pawn shop, maybe you'll get on TV.

Thank You! The rust color in the top right corner of the 1st. photo, made me think of possible junk or imperiaties in the metal. I thought it might be lead, but, lead darkens over time. It has some wieght to it.

I hope that one of the ancient collectors at CT can identify the design for you. I do not recognize it.

Look carefully at the edge for evidence of a seam (left over from a modern casting). Also see if it is attracted to a magnet. These might be indicators that it is fake/junk (not silver) which would explain why someone might throw it from a car.

It's a fossilized dinosaur egg. In the righthand photo, I can see baby T-Rex's head emerging from the shell.

It's no more illogical than some of the things people "see" on circulated coins. Right?

I wouldn't be surprised if it was silver. Stranger things have happened in Vegas. Especially when I go there.

Of course you violated the rule...."what is thrown at you in Vegas, stays in Vegas!" :)

Now! That was Funny & Good! As well as the T-Rex one. What is that rock in your hand, in your post picture? 213sarah

It is a 23 carat piece of African Iolite. It has 3 different colors depending on which dimension you are looking through. A nice sapphire blue, gray, and yellowish gray.

I am a gemstone faceter in another hobby, so I usually only deal with crystals ( rather than rocks :D ) Here is a Namanga Garnet I cut recently.
