This was 2 dollars at a flea market, any thoughts?

    The first place I'd start looking is 1400's hammered coins from eastern Europe. Don't know why, but something about that first pic makes me thing Hungarian or German princelings?

    I agree. Central European medieval - most likely Hungary or some German or Austrian state. You got some ghosts of an inscription there. Who knows.

    Looks like a squashed piece of bubble gum off the bottom of someone's shoe, but quality control was not a big priority in this era.

    But hey- a fun enigma for two bucks? Not a whole lot of downside there.
