Baking, indirect morning sun for 2 years.
    What does it look like?
    It's a Silver Bicentennial Half.
Please give your surface and grade opinion of the coin as you expect to see it.
    The obverse was face up.

I have a cleaned bright white VG 1896-O Barber Half cooking on a windowsill right now. Only been there for a couple weeks though.

What does the sill have to do with changing the appearance of the Coin? Oxidation? Why not bury it in the ground for several years???;)

Was it an old windowsill with leaded paint?

I've got a common Franklin half in my windowsill too, mostly just to see what happens

Heat and off gassing, A window sill will sometimes tone a coin, or give a cleaned coin a skin, making it look more acceptable.
Burying a coin will just give it environmental damage.

Would this be considered artificial retoning?
Since you are intentionally trying to retone a cleaned coin faster than natural circumstances?

I guess you could say that. The coin that I had in the window sill was not intentionally put there. It got left there when I was cleaning my office.
The window blinds are usually closed because the sun light interferes with my camera light.
