Holding this note and thinking of the history behind it, wow!!! Anyhow, would anyone care to tell me what you know about this one, I know very little.
Where you been Dan? Never see you around anymore. Anyway, Not my strongpoint especially with the word dollars on a note that old. Google Denley's of Boston. He might be able to help. Dan
Oh, Ive been around, just alittle bit, alittle lurking atleast. But, Ive made some drastic changes in my life lately. All for the good of course. Thanks for the info, Ill look him up. But I have a few more interesting coins to show, and plenty more to ask questions about. And Dan, Ill work on some nice pictures of this 1865 2 Cent piece in AU for ya.
Hi there Dan. Just a reminder if you get a chance today [June 14] head up to the coin show in Auburn. Your note looks interesting. There are some paper dealers at the Auburn show who could give you expert information on this find.
Welcome back DJ glad to see you back around! Good luck with the note! I dont know much about them, but i do know their are alot of fakes and repros out there. I hope its real, it does look cool!!!
Yeah about 30 min. from me too. Well I didn't buy much today. Arnie had a nice set of 1965- 77 clad Wash. quarters in a Whitman folder. Twenty rather nice ones for $4.99. One cent under face value! Couldn't pass that up and even got a nice 1964 novelty cent in change with Lincoln smoking a pipe. Then picked up a 1980 Mexican onza type .925 one oz. silver for $16. Gainesville coins had tenth oz. Austrian gold Philharmonics for $107 but I passed [again]. The rest of the stuff was priced right up there like the recession never happened. One guy did mark his stuff down though. He had a NGC slabbed Stone Mt. commem. graded MS-63 for $60. Heck that's what I paid for my raw XF Stone Mt.
I got there at the last hour it seems...20 min after I arrived they started packing up... I picked up a 1988 $1 NY Note (crispy) Radar 14355341 for $1.50 cents..LOL RickieB
The show is supposed to run until 2pm. Some dealers start packing at 11:30am or noon. But most of them stay around. I never get there before 11am. Some of the best deals happen after noon. I saw more stamps this time than in the past. Mr. Johnson had some very nice US stamps. Even the promoter Ernie had a pile of stamps.
I did see the stamps as well....there were 2 cases I think I saw the one on the first row left side was pretty cool... RickieB
nice pickups guys! A 1988 radar.. for $1.50. .. that is just unreal lol I want to go to a show when is the next one inthe michigan area?
I wish I could have made it today, but I had to help a buddy of mine work on his house. Ill make it to one of those Auburn shows, sooner or later.
glad to see you back, Dan (djp). Glad to hear that your life is pointed in a positive direction! Good to see you also, Dan (clembo) we haven't chatted in way too long!
