Saw a Tarn-X commercial, they were using it on COINS!! Now I wonder how many people are going to ruin their coins with it?

We should start a campaign "to stop the cleaning of all coinage". (FYI mods, this was a joke so... don't shoot me for advertising)

Probably the same number of people who ruin their coins in rock tumblers...;)

A few months ago I cleaned about 30 wheat pennies because they were filthy. They were so clean right after and I thought they looked great. 10 min later I was mad at myself for doing it and haven't and won't clean any coins again.

Probably the ones that don't have a rock tumbler.

    But wait, there's more!

They've been showing Tarnex commercials with them dipping a coin half way in it and claiming that "coin collectors will love it too" for at least 35 years.

I Tarn-Xed and scrubbed my entire Lincoln cent collection when I was around 5-6 years old. Pretty much rubbed the fingerprints off of my fingers, but those Lincolns sure did look nice... for a little while at least. I still have the albums somewhere and the coins don't look very nice right now :)

Fortunately, it was just a bunch of wheat cents pulled from change over the years, nothing too rare.
