Caught glimpse of the front page of the Maui News at the newsstand and they had a article on the rising price of Gold. But the article did have a very nice typo. http://mauinews.com/page/content.detail/id/501389.html?nav=10 Aside from those "Fantasy" Gold "Patterns" in the 1890's and some Gold Certificates made also in the 1890's, I don't recall hearing the Hawaiian Government making Gold Coins.
According to one expert quoted at this site BTW, I can vouch for Brad's expertise at attribution from contacts over a period of years on other forums.
No offense, but the way they wrote it got me irked. Ergo: So by default, they don't seem to be mentioning stuff by the Royal Hawaiian Mint and Brass tokens.
Read the first ten words of Brad's comment again: "there were no gold coins issued by the Hawaiian government", which is confirmation of what you are saying. BTW Brad is a member here as "Tbirde", but he hasn't posted since list December.
