My dad just bought a house that was built in 1959, and we were cleaning out the closets and I found a bag with 23 silver dimes in it. Can't wait to clean the rest of today.
Jersey, Nice find! Does the old house have an upstairs? If so, then be sure to check each vertical board (casing) on the backside of the stairs (sometimes found in a closet), if accessible and/or the front side for hidden compartments that may contain coins or other valuables. Hit each board strong enough to get a good sound out of them but not so strong as to damage them. You will be listening for a change in the sound from one baord to the next. You may get a bonck...bonck...bonck but if one has a bong sound that is definitely different than the others, then inform your dad as there may be a nice jackpot hidden behind the board. Thanks for the responses, I'm at my grandpa's right now because my dad is mowing their lawn. When I get there I'll be sure to check behind the stairs and stuff. The house was taken by the government because the people before didn't pay their taxes and they usually only give them like an hour to get out. Could of left stuff behind, I'll be sure to check in the most unlikely places.
Could be a true to life hoard! That would be refreshing. After reading the multitude of made up stories from online sellers it's great having a light amongst the dark mountains of BS. :eat:
