Hello everyone, I found this 1992 5 YKPAIHA coin, in a change machine. I believe it's from the Ukraine, looks like it's in pretty good shape. Just wanted to share Thanks
Hi, I believe you are correct. It is a 1992 5 Kopiyok from Ukraine: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces3104.html Does it have a reeded or smooth edge? Coin or medal alignment? It is always awesome to find foreign coins!
Not sure about the edge will look, would this make a difference about the coin? Sorry, not really good at understanding coin language, so what do you mean by Coin or medal alignment? Thank you
It looks like there are three variants for this year. So, the edge can be (1) smooth or have (2) little ridges. This coin is supposed to have medal alignment, meaning that if you flip the coin on its vertical axis, the reverse will be right side up. The third variant is an error because the it has a coin alignment, meaning that you flip it on its horizontal axis for the reverse to be right side up. US coins have coin alignment... I am just going by the numista information and i hope I made sense.
Nice find @Murillo ! I always like finding foreign coinage, even if they are not work anything. I cannot say I have ever found one from Ukraine. Thanks for sharing this. Just a tip, when you post a picture, choose to post the full picture (it is at the top of the section when you download your pictures). Again, thanks for posting this! Love it.
