This is a super neat nickel error, not sure exactly what it though, suggestion?

I want to think it's like a blockage something or maybe struck through a cap die, would love some more info on this.

How does any of that happen during the minting process?

 

A non-coin-collector + too much spare time + a nickel from pocket change + a hammer + a screw driver + kinetic energy = the coin your looking at.

Please keep in mind the following..
Not everything that looks weird, strange or different is automatically a mint error. There are so many ways coins become altered or damaged after they leave the US Mint.

 

Are you gonna resond @Danny Bulric these coins that attract you, are nothing but damage. I would study the minting process if I were you.

Learn Mint state!

 

A little Ex-Lax should solve that . . . .

When I see coins posted like this I always reflect back to when I was right around ten years old. Because at that age, I was able to subconsciously use common sense to understand that coins like this are just straight up damaged.

The purpose of this thread however is not to find out what mint error this coin has. The purpose is, in essence, someone banging on the side of a fishtank just to see all the fish in the tank jolt.

Sorry, im just now being able to check the site, andi would agree that you are correct, i do need to read up more on the minting process, learning just bit by bit
