Isn't DDD when the doubling surrounds the coin? and MD is when it is shelf-like on one side?

You'll get the same answers as your life changer topic post - MD not doubled die.

But welcome aboard. There is much to learn and the members here are always willing to offer their knowledge.

And stay away from youtube. There is a lot of bad information being vomited by idiots.

    Considered worthless doubling.
Nothing to do with a true Doubled Die variety.

As noted by our fellow enthusiasts, there is plenty of information out there that can help you along your path...or hinder you. Pay close attention to the links folks will provide you. You'll get familiar with the sources considered to be the most useful and fruitful. And you'll learn which ones to avoid...or at least keep in safe perspective. This is what you need to know about worthless doubling - Wexler's Coins and Die Varieties (doubleddie.com) The illustration above is recirculated quite a bit here, for those just getting into variety hunting and will have dozens of false alarms. But expand your understanding...ask questions here to clarify things. Eventually, you'll be in position to help others who are at the start of their learning curve.

NAV or No Added Value Doubling. It's very common and only worth face value. I would keep and place in a flip for future educational purposes.

For the most part, yes...but you can have them both on one coin...Spark
